At Doughnut Ask Donut Tell, we make donuts the way our family always did—by hand, from scratch, and with a whole lot of love. Our recipes have been passed down through generations, and every batch we make still starts with real ingredients like pasture-raised eggs, whole milk, fresh yeast, sugarcane, and tallow. No shortcuts. No mixes. Just the good stuff.
We believe great donuts don’t need fake flavors or fancy tricks—just time, care, and a little tradition. From our homemade butter to our slow-cooked cane syrup and thoughtfully sourced toppings, everything we use has a purpose and a story.
But more than that, this shop is about community. We're here because we love where we live, and we want to make it even sweeter. Whether it's raising money for local schools, handing out donuts at neighborhood events, or offering scholarships to support students—we’re proud to give back in any way we can.
Doughnut Ask Donut Tell is our love letter to real food, real people, and the joy of sharing something handmade. Come say hi, grab a donut, and stay a while. We’re glad you’re here.
We believe the best donuts start with the finest scratch ingredients—hand-selected and carefully measured to create the perfect dough. From farm-fresh eggs to pure vanilla, every component is chosen for its quality and flavor. No shortcuts, no pre-mixed ingredients—just the simple, wholesome staples that have stood the test of time. These ingredients form the foundation of our donuts, ensuring every bite is rich, flavorful, and nostalgic.
Each donut is handcrafted with love, from mixing the dough to shaping each piece by hand. We don't rush the process; instead, we take our time to ensure each donut is perfectly formed, with a light, airy texture and a delicate golden color. Fried to perfection in our trusty cast iron skillet, the result is a donut that’s crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, and bursting with flavor.
True to Grandma’s methods, we use traditional techniques to prepare our donuts. Fried in rich beef tallow, our donuts are infused with a rich, savory depth that adds to the sweetness, creating a flavor profile that’s both familiar and extraordinary. Using cast iron pans, each batch is a tribute to the way things used to be made—slowly, carefully, and with heart.
Instead of relying on industrial mixes or shortcuts, we start with simple, high-quality ingredients: rich whole milk, pasture-raised eggs full of deep yellow yolks, and fresh yeast for that tender, airy rise. Our homemade butter adds a depth of flavor and smoothness you simply can’t replicate with processed alternatives.
Unbleached means no harsh whitening agents, and never bromated means it’s free from potassium bromate, an additive banned in many countries due to health concerns. It’s flour that respects tradition, supports craftsmanship, and makes a difference you can feel in your hands and taste in your mouth.
We sweeten our dough with real sugarcane, not heavily processed refined sugar—and that choice matters.
It dissolves more naturally into our scratch-made dough, caramelizes beautifully during frying, and adds a gentle richness that’s never cloying. The result? A donut that tastes fuller, warmer, and more honest.
Our house-made cane syrup is slow-cooked from raw sugarcane, delivering a smooth, molasses-kissed sweetness that blends beautifully into our dough and glazes.
Wildflower honey adds layers of floral notes and a soft, lingering sweetness that no lab-made substitute can replicate.
Tallow gives our donuts a crisp, golden exterior and a tender, melt-in-your-mouth center without the oily residue. It’s naturally free of trans fats when properly rendered and doesn’t break down into harmful compounds at high temperatures like many seed oils do.
If we can make it, we do, but unfortunately, not all companies make it easy finding products we donut make without harmful additives; and that needs to change. More food brands should commit to cleaner formulations so that natural food isn’t the exception, but the norm.
